HI,
I'm trying to set up port forwarding on my router so that I can access a webcam remotely. Using "Address Reservation", I've set the camera up with a static IP address (192.168.1.190) and using "Virtual Servers"have forwarded port 8400 to this address. I can now access the camera via http://192.168.1.190:8400. I've also checked the port using various port checkers and the port is definitely "open". I've set up DDNS so that "mycam.dyndns.org" points to my router (at least if I type into a browser "mycam.dyndns.org" it takes me to the router username/password dialog box.
However, typing in "mycam.dyndns.org:8400" just results in an error - "Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to mycam.dyndns.org:8400".
I've now spent three days trying to work out what I've missed/done wrong ! This used to work with my old BT router - so I'm certain it's some setting I'm missing. Does anyone have any ideas what I can check ? Or how I can track the error down ?
Thanks for any help
David L.
