Extremely slow speeds on 2.4Ghz on Archer C6.
I have a 300mbps fiber optic connection and I bought an archer C6 v3.2 and bridged it to my home gateway. I have done a few tests to confirm it is in true bridge mode like running a tracert to google . On 5ghz I get about 330mbps and on lan I get about 370. On 2.4ghz however, it is slow as hell at about 20 mbps. My room which is about 30 meters with 2 walls in between, 5ghz gets 150mbps but 2.4ghz get maximum 20 anywhere in my house. I know 2.4ghz can be expected to be a lot slower but 20 mbps is waaaay too low and this router is rated for 300mbps on 2.4ghz. Besides, even on my home gateway I get 180mbps on 2.4ghz. I mainly need 2.4ghz on my PS4 which doesnt support 5ghz. This is annoying me so much. These are the steps I have taken so far :-
- Check for interference from other device. only device I can think of is my wireless landline and i get the same speeds with it turned off. I have also disabled wlan on my home gateway from my isp.
- Tried every channel, every channel width, and every wifi protocol
- Security is set to WPA2-PSK with AES encryption.
- Transmit power is set to high
- QOS is disabled
- Disabled almost every security feature, nat, dhcp basically everything on my home gateway. (But probably not the problem becase I get full speed on ethernet and 5ghz)
- Tried updating the firmware. But this router is new and there is no firmware for archer c6 v3.2 .
Any help is greatly appreciated.
