I am planning to change wifi setup at my home. Currently I am using zyxel wifi router and access points. We have 1 main wifi router 300 mbps (with local cable internet connection) and 3 access points (in 3 separate bedrooms) which are connected with lan cables. I am getting good wifi connectivity inside bedrooms.

The problem is that there is lounge (made of glass) in front of main wifi router. I am not getting wifi signal inside lounge. Also my hall is around 10 meter far from main router and behind open wall. I have set a wifi router in range extender mode there. In my hall also wifi signal is weak.

I am planning to change all my wifi routers,APs and range extender. Please suggest me a wifi router with strong wifi signal and also compatible range extender and access points.

I am planning to purchase 1 TP-Link Archer C80 AC1900 Dual Band Wireless router or TP-Link Archer C6 Gigabit MU-MIMO Wireless Router, as a main router and 3 TP-Link TL-WR841N 300Mbps as access points.

Please guide me whether this setup is compatible and will work together. Also suggest me a good range extender to set in my hall.

Thanks in advance

You can go for Archer C7 as a main router and TL-WR841N as APs. TL-WR841N also has a Range Extender mode.

if you need both 2.4 & 5 GHz bands everywhere, then Archer C7 as a main router and Archer C6 as APs, C6 also supports WDS (i.e. can work as a Range Extender).

The C50 APs should work with these IP addresses and configured in AP mode.

For the RE305 if in RE mode you should follow your user guide to configure it:

https://static.tp-link.com/2021/202102/20210220/1910012965_RE205%20&%20RE305_UG_REV4.1.0.pdf

RE305 also supports AP mode which is pretty much the same as C50 in AP mode.

If you want it as RE follow the guide - Chapter 2.2

Both Archer C6 and RE305 support OneMesh - if you want you can give it try - Chapter 3 (user guide)

If it doesn't behave, just remove it from OneMesh network and configure it as a simple RE.
