Dear all,

 

I bought this router with idea to extend my internet network on second floor of the house. It is connected with cable to main router which gives 300mbps download speed and 30mbps upload but output from this  is 85mbps download anTL-WR841Nd 30mbps (on cable, not wireless). Acc specification TL-WR841N is 300mbps router so i am wondering why i cannot get 300mbps download as from main router. All cables are tested so no issue on that side. Please help and share your experience.

TL-WR841N is rated 300 mbps on its wireless speed.

You're probably using it as an access point connected by cable to your main router.

Its ethernet ports are 10/100 mbps, hence the 85 mbps speed limit you're observing.

To be able to have 300 mbps download speed in this configuration, you need a 1000 mbps ethernet port device, like Archer C64 for example.

Thx for reply. But is there any chance to reach 300mbps? How to rech it wireless? If i understood correctly, even if input is 300, he cannot take more than 100, right?

Correct. In this scensrio when connected to WR841N, Internet speed can't be more than 100 mbps (wired or wireless).

300 mbps can be achieved only when transfering data between the wireless devicess connected to WR841N.
