Hello, did anyone upgrade the firmware to 1301301 solved the issue? mine is still unstable...

Short answer: yes I upgraded to the beta firmware 1301301 but unfortunately the drops persist. Connection is fine for hours even days and then I lose Internet.
Long answer: I have two TL-WA901ND's and upgraded firmware in both because they were both dropping connections. I saw on another thread in this forum, (TP-link support was no use) someone suggested:
--changing channel width
--changing channel to 1,6 or 11
--changing antenna positions
--changing encryption type
--enabling Ping Watch Dog

I changed channel width and enabled Ping Watch Dog last night. I actually have hope. Ping watch dog is likely something TP-Link engineers added for themselves while developing the product because they probably had the same issues. It just reboots if it can't reach a device. I have it ping the router the AP is getting Internet access from so if it can't see it, the AP reboots. Changing the channel will be my next step.

I am agree with this opinion!

xuhuiping at this point nothing to loose try DD-WRT http://www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database
Some official firmware of TP-LINK products can be replaced by the third party firmware such as DD-WRT. TP-LINK does not provide technical support and does not guarantee the performance and stability of third party firmware. Damage to the product as a result of using third party firmware will void the product's warranty.

Hi Fellas, I have 70 plus of these APs. I work in a hotel. At the first few months they gave me Hell. D-link sucks too. I have managed to make them stable. First update to the latest firmware. Then turn off short GI and WMM.

If it still doesn't work, then you have to limit the number of sessions per IP.You can do this with some routers or firewalls. The explanation of the hanging issue is because the stupid engineers didn't put a max limit on the number of sessions within the AP's software. What makes it overflow with sessions you may ask? The answer is P2P based apps such as torrents, streaming softwares such as ppstream and so forth.

Thanks and applauses are welcome.

Hi all,
I recently purchased 2 Wa5210G and I had some problems there with connection drops also, I dont know what is the specification of the one which you are working with, but, what I found in the 5210G is that some channels establish good communication (4-6) and the others 1-3 and 7-11 I had many drops in the signal, you can use the Cmd from windows to check with the command ping -t IPofAP, this way you can see the drops of the signal and you can choose the best channel to use.
Regards.

@Chuyo the name of the thread is AP drops connection, refers to TL-WA901ND your post HELP with 2 TLWA5210G 500m and LOS here http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?74892-HELP-with-2-TLWA5210G-500m-and-LOS. It's about a outdoor link a PTP, the first line of your post reads
making a a visit to get some advice in the configuration of 2 of this devices, I'm happy you got your link and it's working, and you are very happy and your adrenalin and drive are 100%, now you want to write tutorials, good for you, and congratulations, but be careful not to mislead the forum users, the key answer to this thread is in post #16, channels went on a holiday on this one.
the reason of your problems on a 500 mt link is you have high power enable on both 5210s, your link is too short, uncheck Enable High Power Mode, power by default is 28 dBm max. you can bring down this too on both radios, good tuto on channels here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_WLAN_channels
Need more action, I invite you to take a tour to this forums, OpenWrt, DD-WRT, Gargoyle, and Ubiquiti Forums, specially this last one dedicated to PTPs and Wisps

Bridge with AP
2014-02-05 19:29:18
I have a similar problem: I have 2 desktop computers in my house, one receiving the connection through a wireles adapter and the other through an AP (the AP receive the connection through wireless and the PC connects on the AP by cable). The connection on the AP drops every one hour (more or less) and automatically get back a second later. That does not happen with the one working on the wireless adapter (I've tested the wirele adapter on the other PC, however it is too far away from the router).

Is there something I can try or some change on the AP or router configuration I can change to fix this?

The connection on the AP drops every one hour and automatically get back a second later. That does not happen with the one working on the wireless adapter . I have already used TP-Link AP WiFi router it is totally wireless and you can apply it anywhere . It is fine from others routers and I am always use it for my official work .

I also use TP-link adapter and I don't face any kind of such problems. If you have some issues try to resolve them with the help of specialist or refresh your TP-link adapter
.I have no issue while working with TP- link.
