Model: Archer C3200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: irmware Version:0.9.1 0.1 v004b.0 Build 170707

I am trying to connect my C3200 to my pre-existing No-IP DDNS account but it fails to log on (continuously shows "Connecting").

I logged on to my existing No-IP account and added a new hostname for the C3200, then used the No-IP user login email, account password and domain name chosen to try to log on.  It failed.  This is the same configuration as I use on a different company's router (a Netgear) that works perfectly.

I tried using the No-IP user account name, it failed.  I tried creating a second hostname, under a different No-IP domain, for the C3200.  That failed too.

I have tried every possible combination of No-IP user email, No-IP user account name, (2) different No-IP hostnames, it will never connect.

I updated to the newest firmware, 170707, no change.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

@dinoSnake

Hi,

Have you checked if the System Log might give some clues as to why it's not working? (Advanced menu -> System Tools -> System Log)

Could you post the information from your router's System Log here?

The log looks like this on my AX50 router when the DDNS is working properly:

ID    Time                            Type                   Level         Log Content
1    2021-09-20 16:27:50    Dynamic DNS    INFO         [816] Dynamic dns noip registered ip: x.x.x.x
2    2021-09-20 16:27:50    Dynamic DNS    NOTICE    [816] Dynamic dns noip login succeed
3    2021-09-20 16:27:50    Dynamic DNS    INFO         [816] Dynamic dns noip return code nochg
4    2021-09-20 16:27:47    Dynamic DNS    INFO         [816] Dynamic dns noip login start

@woozle

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, I checked the logs during the attempts.  The log doesn't even show a DDNS attempt, nor a failure, or *any* DDNS info at all for that matter.

I have rebooted several times and, as noted, upgraded to the most recent firmware.

@dinoSnake

Can you try a manual DDNS update via a browser of a device that is connected to the C3200 and see if that works or not? Just to confirm that it isn't being blocked somehow.

The format is: https://username:password@dynupdate.no-ip.com/nic/update?hostname=abcde.xyz.com&myip=192.168.88.88

(Fill in the proper values for the blue text. For this test the IP can be any, just check afterwards that you see this IP in your no-ip account. You can use either https or http, both should work.)

@woozle No-IP properly identified and registered an IP when I created the new host name from a browser connected to the network in question.  I can access my systems using that No-IP-acquired IP address, but No-IP states they are not receiving any updates from the registered address (No-IP states they are not receiving updates from the router since the new host name was created).

I have configures de DDNS on my nas which is connected to the router but I conform that the C3200 has stopped working with the NO IP DDNS. There is no way I can recover it. have tried gactory defaults, several reset but nothing works. I have opned a ticket with TPlink, no result I believe it has to do with a firmware update done Thanks
