Cannot connect to the Range Extender’s management page
Region : Spain
Model : TL-WA730RE
Hardware Version : V2
Firmware Version :
ISP : Airwifi - Conil
Following my post of yesterday, I have now moved on. http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?3629-tplinklogin-extending-the-router-confusion-with-IP-addresses-etc-going-nowhere®ion=china
Having gone back to factory default and ensuring all firewalls were disabled, I have been able to configure the router WR740N and the extender WA850RE, and they are working fine. But I cannot connect to the WA730RE Range Extender Management page.
With the 850RE disconnected and therefore only having the 740N and the 730RE switched on I have done the following
ipconfig with the defaut gateway being 192.168.1.1 and the IPV4 being 192.168.1.101 (for the ethernet connection) and 192.168.1.100 (for the lan wireless connection).
Ping on 192.168.1.1 works fine
Then, using Explorer and trying to connect to http://192.168.1.1 the following message appears:-
----------------
There is a problem with this website's security certificate.
The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.
The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.
Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server
etc etc
-----------------------------------------------
If I ignore the warning and go the web site, it is 'airos' and when I type in admin in username and password it comess back with the message 'Invalid credentials'
I have reset the extender to factory defaults by holding the reset button for 10 secs (all lights on).
I have also gone through the process of using a specific IP address
I have ensured never dial a connection is ticked
I have reset IE to factory default settings
With all these processes tried and tested there is no change.
No doubt I am doing something wrong, but I despite going through the same process on two PC's one running XP and the other W7, I am still getting the same result. Can you please help?
