Problem wn851nd adaptor

Region : UnitedKingdom

Model : TL-WN851ND

Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version :

ISP : Virgin

I've tried all the solutions suggested in other posts
Disabling AV & Firewall, clean install, manual install, from the CD and using the latest drivers from the support site
all to no avail.

I'm running W7 Ultimate 64bit
Device manager says the adaptor is enabled and working properly
while the taskbar icon says it's disabled

Troubleshooting says there's a problem with the driver?

I really am at a loss
Any suggestions much appreciated ty

Test it on another computer if possible. if cannot work, contact the shop where you bought it to get a replacement.

I fixed this after many times doing this (OS: Win7 32bit):

- Uninstall TP-Link drivers (anyone) and software
- Restart (cancel any autoscan if Windows try it)
- Uninstall Antivirus
- Restart
- Deactivate Windows Firewall
- Restart
- Reboot in Safe Mode
- Install the last drivers (no software)
- Restart
- It should works.

I have been fighting with this device since I received it and tried every solution offered here and on other forums as well. So, I finally uninstalled ZoneAlarm and disabled my 360 Anti-virus and rebooted and as soon as the system started it saw the adapter and installed the drivers and tried to connect. After prompting me for the network key, I typed it in, and viola', I was connected. I am proud to say I am now communicating with you via my Dell Optiplex780 using the aforementioned device. hope this helps someone else. Good day and good luck.
