Model: Archer AX50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.11 Build 20210730 rel.54485

I bought this router few months back and since beginning this device is giving me troubles.

I am experiencing frequent wifi dropouts both on 2.4 ghz and 5 ghz networks. Have tried multiple combinations of wifi settings but the problem is not getting solved. Can anybody help me with the solution plz?

@Nishankg When you say you have frequent disconnections, what does that look like? Does it happen only on one device or all of them? When disconnections happen, are Wi-Fi LEDs on router turned on or off?

How often do they happen?

We need more info to troubleshoot this issue because it could be million things causing it.

Also, I'd recommend turning Airtime fairness on.

@user30

Wifi gets dropped from multiple devices. Wifi lights remains on but the wifi network sometimes is either not visible or even when visible, upon selecting it to connect, it says unable to connect. After few seconds it automatically connects again. This generally happens for both the bands seperately at different times.

I have smart home devices connected to the router. Few of them disconnects and reconnects again.

@Nishankg I'd recommend resetting the router to factory settings. If that doesn't help, check if router is hot when Wi-Fi drops out. AX50 is know for having issues with heat so there could be thermal throttling.

This router is always hot to touch. What is the correct way to measure the internal temperature of the router? Is there any command to check the processor temperature?

Unfortunately, not.

@Nishankg try switching transmit power to medium or low ... had same problems and this helped me ... but also please contact TP-Link support as this looks like a design flaw and they need to be spammed otherwise they will not do anything about it

@TheProttotype

Sure dear, I'll try setting the wifi power medium and low and see if this helps. I have dropped a mail to TP link support as well but I am not sure if they will respond and what to expect from them as a resolution.

@Nishankg also position your router so there is some air flow underneath ... i suspect this problem is a result of excessive overheating ... put it on PET bottle caps for example
