Model: Deco M5

Firmware Version:

Hello Community,

Good day,

I have an issue with our DECO M5. As of now we have 800mbps internet subscription but if we do speed test via wireless (5GHZ) we are getting around 300 to 400 upload and download. And if i connect an Ethernet cable directly to the DECO i get 800 Mbps upload and download. And do speedtest to deco APP it show 800mbps upload and download.

Is the correct behavior via wireless getting around 40% to 50% internet speed?

Is there any settings i need to change?

Antivirus is disable.

The DECO is running on router mode.

Thanks

@tirador

It is correct behavior for Deco M5: 350-450Mbps is the best it could deliver over WiFi.

If you want somewhat faster WiFi speeds, you should replace Deco M5 with more powerful Deco M9 Plus. To get WiFi speeds approaching 800Mbps, you should look for WiFi mesh hardware from TP-Link or other brands that supports WiFi 6.

@Alexandre.  No, please don't recommend M9 Plus. This is most lack-of-firmware, worst, expensive router! It can't event make 500Mbps local speed between two M9s with CABLE!

I am dreaming about having M5 ;)
