Using Archer AX 6000 in WDS with 5G Internet
Hello,
Have recently moved from NBN 100 to 5g Home.. To get strong signal I've had to place the 5g modem up high. I have a wired connection to kids xbox but no way of running cable from the 5g modem to that point. As such I set up the AX6000 as a wireless repeater using WDS... long story but after following youtube videos here is where I landed.
5G Router Sagemcom F@st5866T is on 192.168.1.1
AX6000 is on 192.168.0.222.
WDS on 5ghz is active and running.
DCHP is on for both routers and they have different SSIDs (as signal overlaps). If I switch off DHCP on AX6000 I can connect to it but have no internet and I cannot log into the router at all. Only recovery has been reset to factory settings and start over.
LAN ports on AX6000 are active in Bridge Mode
The outcome is my Macbook and iphone can connect to the internet through either the 5G modem or the AX6000. Internet speeds are good although the speed from the AX6000 is about 60% of the Modem (120mb vs 190mb) I cannot log into the AX6000 at all but I can log into the 5G modem from either ssid. The XBox gets an IP address from the AX6000 on both wired or wireless but cannot resolve DNS.. I tried putting the DNS server detail from the 5G Modem into the xbox but still no connectivity.
I'm sure I'm missing something - so would appreciate any pointers. thanks very much
