Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 2.0.3

I have two QNAP NAS devices on my home network and and number of printers that I want to assign them with static IP's.

Have three X20's units installed, the main x20 unit is running in router mode (pretty much using it standard out of box configuration).

The LAN IP is 192.168.68.1 subnet mask 255.255.252.0

The DHCP server is assigning address's START 192.168.68.50  END 192.168.68.250

I see the feature to reserve an IP adress once it has been rnadomly assigned by the DHCP server.

But I want the the static IP address's to be from a continoues block of address's that I can easily remember.

So how do I set the X20 so that the DHCP server doesnt assigned address's to the existing devices on the network with static address's ?

Do I just reduce the END IP range to say 192.168.68.200 and then assign the devices with new static IP's in the 192.168.68.201 to 250 range ?

(I tried this last night be didn't appear to work... but may have got confused as was trying many different things to get all the device reconnected)

thanks.

Hey

The quickest way to do this appears to be to just allocate the DHCP reservation on the device once its connected (say .123).  Then you should have a list of devices there "reserved", you can then edit these as needed and change their IPs to something better (.250)  .. reboot the client device and all good

In terms of totally static IPs. (set on the device, no DHCP), these tend to be detected OK by Deco and it will ignore these to avoid duplicates.   This tends to not be an issue

@Philbert Thanks for the suggestion about editing the reserved IP address's as I didn't realise that was possible.    Will give that a go later tonight.

@Philbert Yes, editing the reserved IP address in the APP after it has been assigned by the DHCP server is working well.   Thanks for making the suggestion.
