Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 2.0.3

Dell PC wont connect to Deco X20. Wifi is visible on PC but when I try to connect I get 'Unable to connect to this network.' I can successfully hardwire Pc to Deco unit but want wireless function. PCs are about 5 years old and connect fine to prevoius networks

Let's cover all bases, which are: password with special symbols, dual band steering, WiFi mesh. For older WiFi devices it is usually one of these three.

1. Password.

Turn on Guest Network in Deco app, by default it starts without password. See if Dell PC can connect to Guest Network with its SSID and no password required.

2. Dual band steering.

2a. Same setup as in previous test, but in Guest Network turn off 5GHz. Leave just 2.4GHz. Will Dell PC connect now (no password, single band).

2b. Same setup as in previous test, but in Guest Network turn off 2.4GHz. Leave just 5GHz. Will Dell PC connect now (no password, single band).

3. WiFi mesh.

Same setup as in previous test, but power off all Satellite Deco. Bring Dell PC closer to Main Deco if necessary, see if it can connect now (no password, single band - either 2.4GHZ or 5GHz, no WiFi mesh).

------------------

After you've done your tests, make sure you turn off Guest Network so that Deco mesh doesn't broadcast SSID without password for anyone to connect to.
