Model: Deco X73-DSL
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I dont see any reference to WiFi 6 in the deco app settings, only the standard 2.4 and 5Ghz.

Am I missing something here?

Thanks

WiFi 6 runs on 5 GHz. It is possible TP-Link must have found it unnecessary to split configuration settings for two protocols (WiFi5 and WiFi6) running on same wireless frequency.

Deco XE75, which can operate on 6GHz and supports WiFi6e has configuration settings for 6GHz band: How to Use the 6 GHz Band of Your Deco WiFi 6E System for Your Client Devices

  @Alexandre.

This is just it.

When I follow the instructions to the wifi6 link you provided, I dont get anything at all relating to wifi 6

When I go into WiFi settings I just get a screen showing:

SSid+Password

Security (WPA2)

Advanced

If I click Advanced I then get:

Band (2.4 and 5Ghz)

Hide this netowkr from wifi lists (a toggle switch)

You may have misunderstood my explanation.

Deco X73 supports WiFi5 and WiFi6. They both run on same 5GHz frequency. In Deco app, you can't turn off just WiFi5 or WiFi6, you can turn off 5GHz which will disable both WiFi5 and WiFi6.

Deco XE75 is different type of hardware. You do not have Deco XE75. Deco XE75 supports WiFi6E. WiFi6E is next protocol after WiFi6. WiFi 6E runs on 6GHz frequency. In Deco app, for Deco XE75, you can disable 6GHz which will disable WiFi6E.

Note that even in Deco XE75 you can not disable just WiFi5 or WiFi6. You can disable 5GHz, and that will disable both WiFi5 and WiFi6.
