i have a vr2800, works well. want to get a range extender that will allow nextdoor to access the guest network, not sure what product to buy from the tp range? dont want to speand too much.

You could use for this purpose either a RE or a wireless router, which has range extender/WDS mode.
RE450 is a good candidate from REs and Archer C64 from wireless routers.
How to build WDS using Archer C64 see here.
Both REs and wireless routers have a settings to limit the wireless transmission power.
