In the world of Wi-Fi the advertised (rated) speeds are purely theoretical. Real world speeds are often just 50% of the rated speed. An actual data throughput of 260-280 Mbps is already very good for a "433 Mbps" connection.

I am not sure what to make of the "600 Mbps" of your phone. Do you mean you have previously witnessed that phone achieving actual data throughput speeds of 600 Mbps?

The VR400 supports 802.11ac Wi-Fi with a maximum channel width of 80 MHz.
Therefore, for client devices with one Wi-Fi antenna that connect to your router the "rated" connection speed would be 433 Mbps and for client devices that have two or more antennas the "rated" connection speed would be 867 Mbps.

By the way, verify your VR400 has the "Channel Width" for the 5 GHz wireless fixed to "80 MHz". If it's set to "Auto" it might switch to lower settings under certain circumstances.

i have changed the setting on channel width from auto to 80hz, 

about the phone being max 600mbps, i googled its max speed capacity on 5ghz and it said 600mbps. my internet adapter on my pc only supports up to 433 mbps on 5ghz.

so about the antenna things, is there a way to change the amount of antennas the clients are connected to? anything with the settings or its just a matter of my phone only connecting to one. i saw u can change the amount of channels from auto to 48 on 5ghz, lets just say im completely clueless about what channels mean, would changing that make any difference, is there a way to make my devices interact with more antennas?

If the phone's spec doesn't specifically mention 867 Mbps 802.11ac speeds, then it probably only supports 433 Mbps 802.11ac (i.e. the phone has only one Wi-Fi antenna), which means it is limited to the same real-world speeds like the Edimax EW-7811UTC AC600.

The 600 Mbps rating of your phone could mean a few things. Either they just added up the speed of the 2.4 GHz and the 5 GHz Wi-Fi, like it's often being done for Wi-Fi adapter cards or perhaps your phone supports 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) at 600 Mbps rated connection speed. (which you couldn't utilize in combination with the VR400 router) 

I don't know of any router that allows the user to specify the assignment of the antennas. This is all done automatically.

The channel numbers are just representing certain frequencies. For example, 5.240 GHz has been assigned channel number 48. 

So, instead of the router showing you a "Frequency" selection menu that would look like

you get a "Channel" selection menu that looks like
