Model: Archer MR600
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.7.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 220826 Rel.58057n

Dear Support,

I was bought a new router firmware old version 4G+ is working then upgrading firmware new version 4G+ is not working.

The 4G+ light is not ON and I could see only one band without dual band 4G+ in the router console.

Thanks.

Hi, please try to run speedtest or download large files to see if the MR600 will switch to 4G+.

In addition, may I know if you still have any other 4G+ Cat6 device for comparison?

If so, please insert the same SIM card into the another device at same location, then check if it will stay on 4G+ all the time, if so, please also check which band(s) the another device uses.

Hi, we've confirmed with senior engineer that the old firmware had an issue about the 4G+, old firmware might display 4G+ when it actually works on 4G in some cases, for example, the router reports its 4G+ capability to base station but actually works on 4G.

New firmware fixed the 4G+  displaying issue and only display 4G+ when it really works on 4G+, which causes the difference now, but the logic to access or work on 4G+ doesn't change at all, it is always decided by the base station. That is also why we always asked whether you have another different Cat6 product for comparison.

Your understanding would be highly appreciated!

@Sunshine ,

This looks interesting, would it be possible to rund a comparision of the code ("line-by-line") of FW v1.7 against v 1.2 to see what has been changed exactly, and analyse whether this is also related, and may be a solution to the issues for HW v3 issues that we have been discussing elsewhere?

Thanks again

@Sunshine

This 4G+ bug was also only introduced in the latest beta for the MR600 V1 (Archer_MR600(EU)_V1_220818)
The previous beta (I think MR600(EU)_V1_210608) didn't had that bug.

  @Sunshine ,

Thanks, if it is indeed an issue of the Base Station, can you then let me know what I should ask the ISP to do / what does the ISP need to fix at the Base Station (specific, technical questions so that the ISP engineer can fix it).

I still find it odd, though, given that the same issue was reported by different users in different locations with different ISPs, when many of those users reported that they did not have the same issue with different mobile routers / mobile devices from other brands.

Thanks
