Model: Archer MR600
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: ‪1.0.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 220307 Rel.60743n

I setup the openvpn server, but the port UDP 1194 stays closed. Even rebooted the device. I am scanning the WAN IP from outside and the port is closed.

There are no options on the firewall settings to allow traffic to a port. Only to disallow traffic, with the service filter.

Next I'm trying to affect the firewall with a virtual server setting, but I doubpt that will work. Those rules only NAT to internal LAN

  @WelluMies

Hi, please confirm if the Internet IPv4 address on the MR600 is a public IP or private IP. And are you able to connect the OpenVPN Server from an external network?

  @Sunshine

I am connecting to the public WAN IP. I can confirm that from the device settings and through whatismyip. com

I have scanned the IP and the only open ports it shows are TCP 21,554 and 1723 for PPTP. I do not have any ftp server configured on the device, so this is pretty alarming.

Also why is the PPTP port open, if I have openvpn setup? port 554 seems to be rtsp.

the open ftp-port is just waiting to get abused... I wonder what user account it accepts and with what password?
