Model: Deco M4  
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.8 Build 20230619 Rel 48552

Model is brand new Deco M4R (it won't let me enter model number in field above!).

Constant internet drop out via BOTH wifi and Ethernet connection to modem from both apple and windows devices.

Connected to ISP via PPOE with custom VLAN setting per ISP configuration.

Have done factory reboot, and having bought 3 M4s for a mesh, have changed the device that is the master, done factory reset and configured same way with same symptoms. 

When I remove and put my old modem back in (a TPLink VX220) the issue disappears so it is not being caused by my ISP.

Have latest firmware version it will let me download.

Running speedtest.net it constantly (regardless of server I choose, or which device I connect with) after showing high speeds for a few seconds stops with the error

 

" DOWNLOAD TEST ERROR. A socket error occurred during the download test. A firewall could be blocking the connection or the server might be having some issues. Please try again later. "

 

Browsing, streaming etc is near impossible due to constant disconnect.

 

Again, if I plug my old router back in this problem is not there.

 

I have been through the configuration of the device twice with my ISP on the phone to make sure I am not doing anything silly.

 

It's going back to Amazon tomorrow if I can't fix it!

May I know your internet service provider?

Have you noticed any Deco turn red during the disconnection?

I have sent you a  beta firmware in a private message and please help me check whether it helped improve the stability.

  @David-TP thank you - my ISP is Internode, I have not seen the Deco turn red whilst this is happening. I will take a look at the firmware and respond.

Hi have applied firmware and all seems fixed! Thank you! How do I know that future firmware versions will include this fix?

Hello, I have exactly same problem, same firmware, but Deco M4R. Same symptoms - constant internet drop out, same error on speedtest.net website. Can you post the firmware or make an update? The original post is from october, it is january the next year and the firmware hasn't been updated yet. Thanks!

  @David-TP We need a fix....I have the same issue, full speed and drop outs in M4R. But PC alone with ISP modem full speed no major problems....All problems started this January 2024 for some reason.
