Firmware Version: 0.9.1 4.16 v004c.0 Build 170512 Rel.41231n

Hi there,

I can't remember for how long I'm using my TL-WR840R<W> in my home network.

I have a HUAWEI HG8245Q2 installed by my ISP and I have two TL-WR840R<W> wired connected to the main router.

I'm using my TP-Link as access points to increase the wireless signal in my house.

Some days ago I've notice one of my TL-WR840R<W> with all leds blinking.

I've tried to hold the WPS/Reset button and the status is the same. I've hold the reset button until the router resets itself (all goes off for a while) and I still have the same status.

Once this router was working I've tried to upgrade the firmware but the UI said that the file couldn't be accepted or the files wasn't the correct one. So I assume nothing happens.

Now I have the TP-Link with that state. I can't see his default wireless signal. I can't connect to his default IP address or neither the previous IP address that I had before.

Could someone give me a hint about it?

Hi, please try disconnecting all the Ethernet cables from the non-working TL-WR840N, then check if the LEDs will be on stable.

You could also try resetting it again after removing the cables.

Hi @Sunshine,

First of all, thank you for taking time to assist me. I really appreciate that.

I did the reset without any cable connected to the router. The only cable there is the power cable.

And the leds are behaving as before:

All leds glows

Only Power stay on

All goes off

The cicle repeats endless

Here some images that I captured from the process...

Find below the sequence of events. Router doesn't have any network cable on it. Between images it's about 1 second.

The movie is captured here if you would like to check -> Leds Blinking

Step 1. Router with the power cable but the power not connected to the wall.

2. As soon I connect into the outlet

3. One second later

4. One more second

5. Another second pass and

6. And another...

7. And the repeat starts

Looking forward to heard from you!

Hi, please try firmware recovery by following case 1 in this guide to see if it helps:

How to recover the router when it bricked

If it still doesn't work, I am afraid you will need to check warranty with the seller where you bought it.

Hi  @Sunshine

Thank you for the hint.

Unfortunately I can't access the router using the steps that you indicate.

The 192.168.0.1 is not reponsive and I'm afraid that this router is lost since I had purchase this a long long long time ago and the warranty already expired.

Thank you for your time. I really appreciate that.
