Hi All

I've got a 3x set of the X20's - they do the job. I'm aware they aren't the prize winners.

I've looked through the forum (it's HUGE) for my answer and can't find exactly what I'm looking for so please forgive the question.

I'm in the UK and I'm on a 500Mb broadband deal. When using a device that can take those downlaod speeds, the X20 is providing them. Speedtest.net via my fairly new laptop does deliver those speeds - so I know the Deco can handle them. On the Deco website it tells me it'd go to 1.8Gbps max.

My broadband provider is offering me a deal at very little extra cost to go full fibre to the house, 1Gb, but I want to be sure the Deco will provide given my question - which is that I have a mix of devices and some of which don't like 5Ghz - 2.4is their favourite for some reason... SOOO... Will the Deco provide fast speeds to those that will take it on the higher bandwith whilst still acommodating those older devices on the 2.4 with adequate speeds. I'm not expecting them to need fast speeds but want to understand if those that can use that speed will be able to do so?

Hope that makes sense!

Thanks.

You will not get 1.8Gpbs from X20, these are the specs:

5 GHz: 1201 Mbps (802.11ax)
2.4 GHz: 574 Mbps (802.11ax)

For marketing purposes, they add these two numbers, but to achieve 1.8Gpbs on a single device connected to Deco X20 would be impossible.

Realistically, for X20, expect WiFi speeds under gigabit, perhaps 800Mbps, for devices that are connected to X20 over WiFi6 protocol. Check specs for your laptop - if it supports WiFi6, upgrading your Internet speeds to 1Gbps for little cost would make sense.

Devices that can only connect on 2.4GHz will keep their current speeds.
