Model: TL-WA850RE
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 3.14.8

Got this extender 10 years ago and changed internet provider recently. Been trough foruns, FAQ and every troubleshooting menu from your app and website but still can't get the extender to be found by the app.

I can connect to the extender but it's not recognized by the tether app nor via PC.

Can you help?

ipv4: 198.168.1.88

Ipv6: 2001:818:e26b:3900:8668:e089:2a59:c6f

Hi,

According to TP-Link's Tether compatibility list the TL-WA850RE in only supported starting with hardware version V2, while you've indicated that you have a V1.

https://www.tp-link.com/de/tether/product-list/#range-extenders

If you can't access the TL-WA850RE via its former IP address anymore, then you will have to perform a factory reset via the small button located next to the extender's LAN port.
Then connect your computer to it and browse to the address http://tplinkrepeater.net/ or, in case that doesn't work, try http://192.168.0.254/ .
