Received new AX5400 (VX420-G2h) hybrid WiFi 6 Modem Router from iiNet and trying to connect AX6000 (RE900XD) WiFi 6 Mesh Range extender to the router via the TP-Link Tether App without much success. Within 'My Devices' on the Tether App the AX5400 (VX420-G2h) router appears as an 'unknown' device.

1. The Power LED status on the RE900XD extender is solid on (Blue).

2. Within the TP-link tether App, 'Tether' wants to Join Wi-Fi Network "TP-Link_Extender". This is despite the phone Wi-Fi already connected to "TP-Link_Extender" network. I selected the "I'm connected" within the "Connect to your network" stage. The App searches for the extender but fails to find it.

Having searched online, couldn't find much helpful information about tethering capabilities of the AX5400 (VX420-G2h) hybrid WiFi 6 Modem Router to the AX6000 (RE900XD) extender.

Has anyone had similar issue with same devices and found a working resolution?

@Zyborg the solution that worked to gain access to RE900XD range extender settings was to:

1. link computer direct to the RE900XD range extender via ethernet cable.

Don't forget to disable your computer's wireless network connectivity so it's only connected to your RE.

2. Run http://tplinkrepeater.net and follow the prompts to connect RE to router.

@Mski I am facing the same issue with my AC2600 range extender, earlier it was working fine but all of a sudden maybe after the new release of tether it's showing unknown device and web management website isn't opening, if you have already found the solution do let me know!

@Mski I hard reset the device and now it's working on tether app, although had to do all these settings of changing the frequency band range, naming the wifi networks... Thanks for your help though : )
