Using old router as switch and WAP
Hey all, need some help here.
I was unable to select my model, but I am using a VX220-G2v on frimware 2.0.0 0.9 v603c.0 Build 220517 Rel.49186n.
Basically, I'm wanting to use the vx220 as a secondary WAP and as a Network Switch at the same time, so I can extend my WiFi rang, while having more LAN ports for my local server and office PC. I've added a diagram of how what I basically want.
I am following a tp-link FAQ guide and following case 2 (https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1384/ for those that don't click random URLs) but the issue I am having is when I disable DHCP on the tp-link and set an IP within the DHCP range of the Netgear (2-254), I can't access the tp-link config via the new IP I've set. Connecting directly drom PC to the tp-link LAN1 port to configure the device. It just outright refuses to connect.
When trying to set an IP outside of the DHCP range of the Netgear router (number greater than 254), I get an error saying 'enter a valid IP'.
I'm relatively new to networking but not an idiot, am I missing something here?
