I'm very new to home networking. Trying to find an exact answer is hard with how differently each home network can be set u p.

I recently installed 11 drops in my home which is an awkward number. it seems. It looks like I'll n eed to get a 16 port switch (or (2) 8 port switches) to handle everything.Is it bad practice to use the ports on the router as well as the switch to cover liteblue the 11 drops? This would allow me to get by with a single 8 port switch. If I did this, I would plan on putting the two access points on the router.

@wleipeini

Thanks for your information.

Most TP-Link wireless routers have 4 LAN ports and 1 WAN port; You can add 1-2 switches to offer more ethernet connection, which is fine.

There are some unmanaged switches:

And now there is no 4 LAN ports access point available yet.

Good day.
