Firmware Version:

Good day,

I have a strange problem when connecting my tp-link range extender to my existing network.

I have a router that broadcasts a 5G and 2.4G network, I connect the extender to the 2.4G network, and as soon as I do that I have limited connectivity on the 5G network. Although the 2.4G network and extender, both have internet access.

What I have tried so far:

Setting the range extender to automatically obtain an IP address from the main router

Switching off DHCP from the extender to ensure an IP is assigned from the main router.

  @QuintinK

Hi, what is the hardware version of your TL-WA850RE?

I think you could try to install the beta firmware here to see whether it helped:

Wi-Fi Range Extender Causing Host Router No Internet

Best regards.

Hi David,

Thank you for your reply.

Upgrading the firmware to TL-WA850RE(EU)_V7_1.0.13 Build 231115 does seem to have fixed the problem.

Thank you for your assistance.
