BE-85 Hardware versions
From what i understand i have a pair of the BE85 that has H/W revision v.1 (checked label under the units). However when i checked the download firmware i saw that the units self-updated to the firmware that was on the H/W revision v.2 on the tp-link download page.
1. What are the differences between H/W Rev.1 and 2?
2. How can this happen?
3. On my LG Tv i sometimes get no connection or buffering (via cable). No other problem with any other units whatsoever and i cant find the root cause. Any other that has this issue on LG tv´s?

Hi, welcome to the community.
Deco BE85_V1 and V2 share the same firmware download link, and the device will automatically select and adopt the appropriate firmware based on its embedded hardware version. Both V1 and V2 have been updated with similar software features.
Deco BE85_V1 is mainly for the EU version and V2 is mainly for the US version. Due to regional wireless regulations, the wireless specification of V1 and V2 has a slight difference(like BE19000 vs BE22000).
Best regards.

Hi David.
I am cosidering 2-pack BE85, but I need 240MHz (8640 Mbps) on 5GHz.
I am from europe and I can buy it locally EU variant (BE85 BE19000) but advertaised speed is (5760 Mb/s I am guessing 160MHz only), can I switch the region(or firmware) and use 240MHz?
or in this case just buy the US variant (BE85 BE22000) from amazon.com and use 240MHz without any tricks?
Best,
Michal

Hi, welcome to the community.
Have you tested whether your mobile devices can use 240MHz?
If the local WiFi regulations haven't adopted 240MHz, it doesn't help if just the WiFi router supports 240MHz over 5GHz.
If you purchase the EU version, Deco doesn't support changing the region code and the firmware upgrade will not open 240MHz either.
It is not advisable to purchase the US version as we don't cover international warranty service, and the local warranty office wouldn't accept replacing products purchased overseas.
Thank you very much and best regards.

Thank you David!
It's for office building and use (already having two BE95, US variant, bought few months ago on amazon.com while they was not avaible in Europe yet), so yes 240MHz tested and working and actually modern laptops with WiFi7 or new phones can use it (320MHz 6GHz is more problematic, windows drivers are going a bit crazy here, Samsung phones [S24 ultra] can see it and use).
Now need to replace old WiFi6 (not E) and 5 in two other places in the office where we don't need BE95 and crazy bandwidth on 6GHz but still 10G SFP+ and not bad 6GHz and good 5GHz will be needed.
So BE-75 or BE-85, and 85 looks better with 4 antenas on 5GHz because of many older devices WiFi5/6 that works on 5GHz and still need 100MB/s+ speed from time to time, 6GHz works nice on BE95 - real life speeds about 340MB/s, need to solve 320MHz Windows problems then 450MB/s possible :)
So yes will buy it on amazon.com, to have 240MHz
