Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.4 Build 20231211 Rel. 70549

UK release of the BE65.  I replaced an ISP provided router and wifi 5 mesh with this new Deco Wifi 7 mesh.  6GHz set as dedicated backhaul (no wired backhaul).  I run a Synology NAS which I access over https via a synology ddns address with a wildcard certificate for all my applications.  I forwarded external port 443 to port 443 of my NAS expecting connections to work.  None do I get a connection error saying the site took too long to respond.  I did a llot of trouble shooting, found I could access no problem on my phone when it was off the external network proing the port forward is working.  At this point I discovered the thread about NAT loopback not working on the Deco BE85 and th epenny dropped that maybe that is what the problem is.  Additionally after setup I did a few initial tests and did see near enough gigabit wireless speed on a wirelessly connected node.  Since update to the latest firmware I am lucky to see 400mbits on the wirelessly connected nodes the speed of the backhaul seems to have dropped off massively.

I would like to forward your case to the engineers for further assistance. Please check whether you have received my email.

Just to confirm "..... found I could access no problem on my phone when it was off the external network proing the port forward is working", it is like the following:

  • WAN (connected from the outside internet):   DYNAMIC DNS ADDRESS      -> server is responding 
  • LAN (Connected to DECO WIFI):    LOCAL LAN IP ADDRESS               -> server is responding
  • LAN (Connected to DECO WIFI):    DYNAMIC DNS ADDRESS       -> server is not accessible and the site took too long to respond.

Correct if I am on cellular or any other network I can use the DDNS address and the server responds.

Yes I can connect direct via IP address on the lan.

Yes if I use the DDNS address on the LAN I get the error took too long to respond.

Email received from Aaron Zhu regarding new firmware.  I have upgraded to 1.0.6 Build 20240307 Rel. 59968 but all of my reverse proxys are still failing.  Tried on mobile network and connection still goes straight through so it is still just on my lan where any synology dot me ddns address on 443 is failing.

  @KS5150  same here! Using a DDNS can hit my server from outside the network thru port forwarding and nginx , but it fails under LAN when using the DDNS address, but works under direct LANIP:port lookup. Also, I have a BE63, which seems to have a similar issue with NAT loopback.

  @Funkfunkfunk it's fixed under a test firmware which I have, still awaiting official release

  @KS5150 Interesting, thank you for the update! I'd love to see a similar test firmware for the BE63. I'm glad to hear it sounds like it's working on your side!

 

@David-TP  I'd be very interested to pilot / test something like that when this issue is patched for my model. My use case critically requires NAT loopback.

@KS5150 Hi, Thank you very much for the update.

I checked with Aaron earlier and he said the official 1.0.7 version for Deco BE65 has fixed this issue:Deco BE65_V1_1.0.7 Build 20240322 .

It is suggested to update to the latest version first.

Hi, Thank you very much for the feedback.

Deco BE63_V1 shared the same firmware download link with Deco BE65_V1.

If you are in a hurry, you could try to install the same firmware via web UI on Deco BE63.

The 1.0.7 for Deco BE63_V1 will also be ready soon and you could also wait for a while for the official release.

  @David-TP Thank you! I noted this morning that firmware 1.0.7 Build 20240322 Rel 57053 became available and downloaded that upgrade for my BE63 - I just installed that firmware, and it seems NAT loopback now works for me as well!  I'll continue monitoring this week and update back if there are any issues.  I appreciate the quick response!
