Model: Archer T2U Plus
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I purchased the Archer T2U Plus (AC600 High Gain Wireless Dual Band USB Adapter) to create a mobile hotspot in Windows 10. However, I am unable to create the hotspot. Is there any Microsoft patch available to resolve this issue?

ERROR  MESSAGE
"We can't set up mobile hotspot because your PC doesn't have an Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or cellular data connection."

Hi,

I've just tested this myself and I got the same result. The Hotspot cannot be used if the computer is connected via a PPPoE connection. It's the same with different Wi-Fi adapters I own and also in Windows 11.

Apparently a PPPoE connection doesn't count against the requirement of "an Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or cellular data connection". I guess only Microsoft would know why.

Hi,

So, your computer currently does indeed have an active "Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or cellular data connection", but Windows 10 tells you it does not?

By which type of connection is your computer connected to another network?

  @woozle

I am currently connected via an Ethernet LAN cable using a PPPoE Broadband Connection. I would like to share my internet traffic from Ethernet and utilize the TP-Link AC600 wireless connection to act as a mobile hotspot. The mobile hotspot should connect with the Steam Deck model 1010.

Despite trying almost everything, I am still unable to activate the mobile hotspot.
