  • Hi – I have just upgraded my HFC NBN broadband from 50/20 to 100/20
  • If I have a direct Ethernet connection from the NBN modem to the PC the speed is 100/20.
  • I have a TpLink Deco X50 Mesh Router pair and if I connect the NBN modem to the router and then to the PC my speed is 46/16.
  • I have rebooted everything, checked everything to no avail. I am currently swapping ethernet leads in and out but no luck so far. Ideas, thoughts, solutions would be very much appreciated. Ethernet lead swapping now completed - no difference.
  • I have not changed any settings on the Deco router since the upgrade. Should I? It is PPPoE. Do I need a fresh start? I am really reluctant to do this as just a "maybe" It will take an enormous amount of time to set things up again as I want them.

  @Peter__M

Increase QOS setting to at least 200 download and 200 upload, check speeds again. See How to set up QoS on the Deco.
