Model: TL-MR6500v
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Firmware Version:‪1.1.0 0.9.1 v00a1.0 Build 230816 Rel.63061n

I have the same problem as many others seem to have. Analog calls over the rj11 connector fails when using VOLTE.

When I try to call my mobile phone from the analog phone connected to the 6500v the call registers as a missed call on the mobile android phone. But on the analog phone there is a BUSY.

When I try in reverse, I call the 6500v from my mobile phone it says that the number i tried to call is busy.

SMS to and from 6500v works. And data over LTE works also. When I turn of VOLTE the calls works over 3g as expected. But that's not what I need because of 3g shutdown here in Sweden later this year. I need VOLTE to work so I can continue to use my analog alarmsystem.

My mobile network provider is Comviq (Tele2) and the VOLTE feature works as expected when the sim is in a mobile phone.

The logfile is filled with pages of this:

1 2024-04-04 16:41:36 LTE Information ERROR: 0x00000010 QMI_ERR_NOT_PROVISIONED

And when trying to make a call from 6500v to my mobile it looks like this in the log:

I don't expect a solution to this problem as TP-link seems to have abandoned this device even when I just purchased it. It have just gotten end of life status. But wonders have happened before.

I'm eagerly awaiting a response. Thank you.

Hi, is your network mode set 4G Preferred or 4G Only?

Normally when VoLTE is enabled with 4G Preferred network mode, if VoLTE doesn't work, it will still fall back to 3G to make/receive calls.

Please also share with us screenshots of your VoLTE settings and model no. of your analog phone.

Regarding the VoLTE test on your mobile phone, please make sure your phone is set to 4G only, then test at same location as the MR6500v. During the call, please double-check the network type displayed on the phone to see if it is indeed on 4G LTE.

After confirming the above details, if the issue happens with MR6500v only, I will escalate your case to senior engineer via email for further debugging.

  @Sunshine

Thank you for replying.

I have the router set to 4G only and it doesn't work. And when set to 4G prefered it falls back to 3G for phone calls.

Since I wrote previous message I have tested with another carrier sim (Telia). And with that sim it works as expected on 4G only.

So it seems as the router does not support carrier Comviq in Sweden. I called Comviq support and their response is that they support 4G VoLTE.

So a fix for supporting Swedens carrier Comviq would be nice.

Tanks

My issue with the router and the non functioning analog calls is now resolved by an incredible support from tp-link. A lot of e-mail back and forth and logs submitted and finally a working beta firmware that resolved my issue.

Thanks to the superb Technical support staff at Tp-link
