Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have a fibre connection coming into my home from Bell Canada. I'm told I have to use their fiber modem regardless as it has management software and remote access tools for Bell support.

I'm trying to connect my new AX55 router to my Bell Giga Hub router by running the supplied ethernet cable to a port on the Bell router and into the WAN port on the AX55.

Of course the Bell router assigns an IP address to the AX55. I've tried to access the AX55 in a browser to 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, tplinkwifi.net and of course with the IP address assigned by the Bell router. None of them get a reply. That is to say I get a tplinkwifi.net homepage saying my router is not connected.

My IP Scanner confirms the IP address of the AX55 in this case 192.168.2.30 but you can't even ping it even though the IP address has been assigned and the IP scanner confirms it.

Eventually I want to put the Bell router into bridge mode, but I don't want to do that yet until I can reach the AX55.

Any ideas on what's wrong?

Any help appreciated.

Kerry

  @Kerrya

Hi,

If your IP scanner finds the IP address that has been assigned to the AX55's WAN port, then it means you are currently connected to the LAN network of the Bell Giga Hub.

By default you cannot manage the AX55 via its WAN port or even ping it. (both would have to be enabled later within the AX55's admin webpage)

Anyway, to access the AX55's webpage you need to connect your computer or phone either to a LAN port of the AX55 or the Wi-Fi of the AX55 and then browse to 192.168.0.1

(the SSIDs and wireless password are printed on the label on the bottom of the AX55)

  @Kerrya

Connect a PC/laptop to your AX55 by a cable to one of its LAN ports.

Here's how to find your router LAN IP address.
