Model: Deco X55
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.4.1 Build20231122 Rel. 40485

Forgive the dumb question, but does creating a firewall rule (Advanced -> Internet Connection -> IPv6 -> Firewall Rule) create a rule or an exception to the default rules?

For example, I enter:

Service Type: Custom

Service Name: <name>

Internal IP: <IPv6 address of a device>

Port: 1900

Protocol: UDP

and click Done.

Did I just add port 1900 to the firewall or remove it from the firewall?

Thanks in advance.

@oakmontoz You can make edits to your own thread, no need to make a separate comment.

And I think that settings create a firewall rule

Just a M4 (2-pack) user who regrets buying it

  @oakmontoz

ImtiazAli was right and you actually added port 1900 to the firewall.

You might notice the configurations under Deco APP>More>Advance mainly work for IPV4 only.

All the incoming IPV6 traffic to Deco was blocked by the gateway. The "Firewall Rule" is like the NAT forwarding for IPV6 and you have manually opened the port 1900 for the chosen internet IPV6 client.

Thank you very much and best regards.

Thank you both. OK, I've done all that. Using Wi-Fi Toolkit, I find no open ports on the address I've assigned to the device (Philips Hue Bridge) that I'm trying to expose to the Internet. Now what?
