Archer VR2100v DHCP Option61 for VOIP
Archer VR2100v DHCP Option61 for VOIP
I have Archer VR2100v for home use and I preferred this one as it has good integration with 3g/4g mobile dongles as backup line. Recently I requested from my ISP for voip credentials and mentioned that I should use option 61 with the identifier the ISP provided. But I am unable to spot this option. I read in this forum that this router support this, but I was unable to find it also in the user guide. Anyone who may know where this option is? I suspect that it should be under Internet, wan while using DHCP

VR2100v has only one WAN port. The idea behind that post is to select your ISP from the list and the settings customized for this particular ISP would be propagated automatically to your modem router.
If that doesn't work, you should probably contact your ISP and work with them to resolve this issue.

Can you explain what do you mean by "WAN Port"? They have give me a string of format <phone_number>_cid.asubdomain.adomain to put into option61 and option 60 should be the model name.

Seems that there is no feature which lets you put option 60 and option 61 into Archer VR2100v. I contact TP-Link, but they responded to follow my ISP Guide which I also provided to them and they mentioned that if it does not work then it is not supported. I have to say not very professional way of responding, you need to be sure when you are responding from the begging and not because it is not working it is not supported. Also they do not even provided a workarround.

You didn't mention which FW version your VR2100v is using.
I see on the support portal that Archer VR2100v(EU)_V1_230517 is the latest.
If your VR2100v is not with this version update the FW and test again.
Sometimes TP-Link updates the ISP lists in a new FW release.

My firmware version on the router is 1.16.0 0.9.1 v009e.0 Build 230510 Rel.46740n While latest on their site for v1 is Archer VR2100v(EU)_V1_230517. From the build number we see that site's seems newer but when I installed, it notified me about a newer one which was the firmware I had already. In addition site's release date do not match with the file name not sure why, but my router says that I have the latest right now.

@terziyski I have seen the post but I was unable to identify how this is possible through the comments. @Kevin_Z can you please explain how to use option 61 into Archer VR2100v? In addition there is this post talking about VOIP on Archer VR2100v but not sure if option 61 is used there.
