Model: Archer AX6000
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.1.3 Build 20230906 rel.52177(5553)

Hi, first time poster and happy TPLink user.

I am running an AX6000 router in my studio, which uplinks to the house NBN TPLink Archer VR1600v v2.0 00000000, (Firmware= 0.1.0 0.9.1 v5006.0 Build 220518 Rel.32480n), supplied by iiNet as part of my NBN package.

I have set up Remote Management on AX6000, but the IP given is a https://192.168.1.102 - I am imagining because I am uplinked to VR1600 and that its LAN subnet range that, no doubt. As the AX6000 is on the 192.168.0.2 range when accessing Admin panel.

* I imagine I would have same issues with extending UPnP Port Triggering on VR1600v when I have set it on AX6000; and possibly accessing my USB devie on AX60000. Or maybe this isnt an issue.

How do I log in remotely? Do I set up forwarding on vr1600? If so, how?

On another note: A shame the vr1600 is not supported via TPLink Tether App on iOS :(- well at least I am unable to log into it, AX6000 is accessible nps :(

Thank you in advance.

Hi, thanks for posting question on our community.

TP-Link Archer Router has a remote management feature that allows you to access your Router web interface when you are away from home.

In order to manage your router remotely, please log in to the web management interface and go to Advanced > System Tools > Administration > Remote Management, then enable and configure the Remote Management as needed.

After that, you may use https://WAN_IP_ADDRESS_OF_THE_ROUTER to remotely access your Router.

However, if you encounter difficulties accessing the web interface of your router remotely, try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Ensure that Remote Management is properly enabled and configured on your router.

    2. Check if your router's WAN IP address is a public IP or not, if not, it means there is another NAT or router in front, you will need to configure port forwarding on the front router.

    3. Check if your router's firmware is up-to-date. If not, update it to the latest version.

    4. Make sure that the port used for remote management is not blocked by your ISP or firewall.

For your situation,Archer AX6000 does not get a public IP, you may need to do port forwarding on Archer VR1600v.

To set up the Virtual Server/Port Forwarding on the DSL modem router, you may try these steps:

    1. Log into the web-based interface via http://tplinkmodem.net

    2. Go to Advanced > NAT Forwarding > Virtual Servers, then click "Add".

    3. Click "Scan" and choose the desired service (e.g., HTTP). The external port, internal port, and protocol will be automatically filled. Enter the PC's IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.100) in the Internal IP field.

After that, the local service could be accessed over the internet by http://WAN IP+ Port number, for example, http://8.8.8.8:80. The WAN IP on the DSL modem router should be a public IP address. If your WAN IP is assigned dynamically by the ISP, it's recommended to set up DDNS on the DSL modem router.

For more details, please refer to this FAQ.
