Model: Archer MR200
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I used to be able to login to check my settings while offline but I can't do this recently. The bookmarked link now opens first in another screen advertising the app and to access this first screen I must be online. Could I change it back please? I don't have reliable internet connection.

With thanks.

Hi, thanks for posting question on our community.

May I confirm the hardware and firmware version of your Archer MR200? ( Related FAQ

You may take factory reset on the router and reconfigure it, then check the performance.

  @Marvin_S Hi. Hardware v5, firmware says up to date in settings menu.

I don't really want to reset anything ... not technical minded and don't want to go through the setup again.

Is there a simple way to check, for instance in the source code of web link? I thought the link was a direct connection from my laptop to the modem because they are connected via ethernet cable. But somehow this tethering ad has sneaked in there and requires an internet connection to open it and then continue to the modem.

Has it been hacked? Shouldn't there be a direct connection?

Or maybe there is another direct link I can use?

With thanks.

  @Marvin_S

I just noticed in settings under Admin:

Remote Management: not enabled

Remote Management via HTTPS: Enable

Manage This Router via the Address:
https://10.94.150.129

Client Device Allowed for Remote Management:
All

Should I disable https remote management? I never noticed that before.t

10.94.150.129 in browser brings up the tethering ad that requires an internet connection so I can never access settings when offline.

I can't delete it as it's greyed out.

Should I enable remote management or leave it disabled?

Local management via Https is not enabled.

I only ever need to manage settings from my ethernet connection.

Hi, can you share the screenshots to show the tethering ad you mentioned? Did you use tplinkmodem.net or 192.168.1.1 to log into the web interface of the router?

Hi, the Local Management feature on your router allows devices connected to the local network to access and manage the router's web interface. By default, all local devices have the ability to access the router via HTTP and make configuration changes.
And the Remote Management feature enables remote devices to access and manage the router's web interface from outside the local network. By default, remote devices do not have access to the router for management purposes.
To configure the local or remote management settings, you may follow this detailed instruction.

Hi, Marvin. Here's the screenshot.

It appears whether I use tplinkmodem.net or 192.168.1.1

I must click on 'go to web' to fetch up the router login page but I stiil need to be online.

The 'download' button appears to redirect to https://www.tp-link.com/app/qrcode/?app=tether

  @Marvin_S

I've tried several times and can't upload the image.

I'm getting: "HTTP error occurred during file upload (error status: 500)."

I'll try again in a bit.

@Marvin_S

I'll try one more time to upload screenshot of tethering ad. The last post said 'file successfully uploaded' but I can't see it there.

Is there any other way to get this to you? it's only 140kb
