My power line adapter has worked flawlessly for a number of years.  My electrician has added a surge protection device in the consumer unit yesterday.   All 3  lights on the power adapter light up however there is no internet connection.    However when I turn off the fuse for the surge protection unit I am able to access the internet.

Can anyone suggest why the surge protection device on the consumer unit is interfering with the power line adapter.

thanks

  @Kevin-

Hi, thanks for sharing a good example on our community.

Usually, for optimal performance, it is recommended to plug powerline devices directly into a wall socket rather than using a power strip, extension cord, or surge protector.

For TP-Link powerline devices, the internet was transmitted by powerline. Adding surge protection device may cause abnormal powerline transmission, which may cause the bad performance of powerline devices.
