I have purchased a wireless security camera and its about 6mtrs and 2 thick walls away from my hub, it works well apart from the 2.4 GHz signal that it uses is very weak only 65% and therefore a bit slow responding. Would the TP-Link's TL-WA850RE work for me?

If I buy this and set the extender up using the WPS method while next to the HUB can I then simply unplug it and move it to the final position?

In general, that's exactly the practice when you're configuring a range extender.

Here some more details on how to place your RE for optimal reception and performance.
