Model: Archer AX23
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 Build 20230725 Rel. 56344(4555)

Hello there,

I have Archer AX23 v1.20 updated to latest firmware.

I encounter a problem with WIFI connection.

I have regular wifi with 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz and guest wifi only 2.4Ghz.

After some troubleshooting what is wrong i realized my 2.4Ghz wifi guest and regular drop quite often.

From full signal just disappear and reappear after some seconds.

As a result my laptop is all the time on 5Ghz band despite lower signal strength.

I tried reboot router, switch channel for 2.4Ghz to 1, 6 and 11.

Based on my wifi analyzer there isn't much contest in the area to cause interference. For instance there isn't single device on channel 1-5.

I tried disable smart connection.

Switch different type of security.

Reduce channel width to reduce chance of interference.

Test several device to be sure its not just my laptop problem but router/wifi problem.

I also update firmware to latest version available.

Any idea what to try next?

Thank you in advance

Hi, thanks for your update.

Did you ever try to channel width of 2.4GHz into 20Mhz?

2.4GHz wireless module seems faulty, so it is suggested to contact your retailer or local support to confirm warranty.

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

As you have tried many steps to fix the issue, we may need to confirm some details to understand your situation better.

1.How many clients do you have totally? How many are connected to 2.4GHz main network? How many are connected to 2.4GHz guest network? What are they separately? Did you set different wifi names?

2.When the internet is unstable, do all your clients disconnect from 2.4GHz main and guest network? Will they reconnect automatically?

3.How often does the issue happen? Does the issue happen since firmware update? When did you purchase the router?

Looking forward to your further sharing~

Hi Marvin,

1) how many - 3-4 devices are connected via wifi

to 2.4GHz i tried to disable all but two devices

guest network has 2 clients most of the time

2) my experience is 2,4Ghz network drop, clients from wifi lose connection, clients in regular one signaling low signal from full because they switch to 5GHz.

Devices reconect back once wifi is restored

3) How often - we are talking about interval from 1-5 minuts

update of firmware did not help at all, same situation.

I purchase router january 2023

I hope it help,

let me know if you have further questions
