Model: TL-WA1201
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

On the venerable TL-WR841N router, you were able to change the host name:

d4d1fbd1590a49e99341cf89a902b1b5

So why can't you do this on all TP-Link network devices like the TL-WA1201 access point? I know the answer is "You can't", i.e. this field is not available in the web interface but I can't think of any technical reason because it can clearly give out a hostname, i.e. when I look at DHCP leases in the Mikrotik router, it shows as TL-WA1201.

I suppose the question is why is it missing from the web interface? It's a really handy feature when you've got many devices on the network. I know on Miktorik RouterOS I can make it static (reserved DHCP) and then add a comment but not as handy as been able to specify the hostname.

More recently I couldn't find it on a TP-Link Archer C6 router.
