DECO AX1500 AP Mode
Hi,
I just purcahsed a 3 Deco AX1500 package in order to improve my wifi in my house.
I want them to run in AP mode, cause I have already my router, a Netgear RAX20, and I want them to run the same SSID.
In the app, I have to set up first a new wifi network, and after that, I can go into AP Mode.
After that, why is the wifi I just created still available?
I don't see new devices connecting the AP, even after reboot.
Do all my APs have to be connected to my router with cable?
Thanks for your help.

Hi, welcome to the community.
Only one Deco X1500 needs to be connected to the Netgear RAX20.
In "Access Point mode", Deco would not automatically copy the SSID of Netgear RAX20. It will still broadcast its own SSID but you could change the SSID to be the same as Netgear RAX20 to reduce the roaming time when mobile devices switch from Netgear to Deco.
Compared with setting the same SSID, it is suggested to disable the WiFi on Netgear RAX20 and use the Deco Mesh SSID only.
Thank you very much and best regards.

@David-TP Hi,
Thanks for your answer.
That's exactly what I was wondering about disabling wifi on my RAX20.
In this case, perhaps I can remove it and use only the modem provided by my Internet supplier.
About Deco : I have also a domestic Wired Network. I suppose it is better to connect all each other with cables?

Yes, "Ethernet Backhaul" on Deco would be greatly recommended.
