Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20240531 rel.78852(4341)

TP-Link Router: AX3000 / Archer AX55(CA)
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20240531 rel.78852(4341)
Hardware Version: Archer AX55 v4.0

Home Network:
We have a very simple Home Network, with some wired Desktops and a wireless laptop.
We do not use any *Mesh devices.
We have NO NEED nor have any use for tethering, ..., and I do NOT want HomeShield trying to send data anywhere.

Problems/Issues:
If I click on HomeShield it just sits there hanging, preventing me from doing anything else, I can not go to any other settings, and it won't even let me logout. ?!

(see attached png image file).
So, what is HomeShield trying to do when I click on it.?
What is HomeShield trying to do in the background.?
I do NOT want HomeShield running at all.

Resolution Required:
How can I Disable HomeShield completely.?

Please tell me what settings I need to change to ensure that HomeShield is disabled.

  @scjet96

To manage the HomeShield feature you have to install Tether app on your mobile and manage the feature - details.

Tether app is a mobile app which you could install and use for remotely configure/manage your wireless router - blue text is a hyperlink.

If this was helpful click on the arrow pointing upward to make it blue. If this solves your issue, click the star to make it blue and mark the post as a "Recommended Solution".

@scjet96 Seems like there is an issue with HomeShield...

I can't disable any features in the APP, simply says "Failed to save the information. Please try again later."

Is there something going on with HomeShield?

Sorry to thread jack

Sorry all for not getting back quickly, I had a trying week.

btw, I did not receive any "link" in any "private message"? -there's a message box in my account settings, but I didn't get any message from you?

Anyway, My Firmware is already the latest, see my top post.

Note again:

We have VoIP here, we do NOT "tether" anything, nor have use for tethering, .... and I do not use a mobile/cellphone, other than for emergency purposes and hence we do NOT install any 3rd-party apps on it.

So now, can someone please help me to disable Homeshield.

When I click on the Homeshield tab to disable it from running it just sits there running doing nothing. (see my top post for the pic), and I can't even go anywhere within my Router, and I can't even exit out of it., ... ?

I'm sure I can't be any more clearer in my explanation than this.
