Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.1.1 Build 20240531 rel.78852(5553)

I have recently changed my home router from C20i to AX55.  All devices work fine except my 7-year old Samsung Smart TV.

Basically, it sometimes cannot connect to router/internet after powering on.  I have to switch off the power supply of the TV and power on again, then it works fine.  But next time when I switch on the TV, it would either re-establish the connection with the router, or not; it just happens randomly.  But there is no such problem with the old Archer C20i!

I tried to set exactly the same settings in AX55 as in C20i, even tried guest network, 2.4GHz only, etc., etc., nearly every combination but it does not solve the problem.

The strangest thing is that if I connect C20i via LAN cable to AX55 and set it in AP mode with a different SSID, and set TV connect to it, then it will become stable (i.e. no disconnection again).

I have searched the forum and the internet and could see a lot of issues with Samsung TV itself, but also with TP Link newer routers.  Please could you advise the solution, as it is very stupid to connect 2 routers this way.

For everyone's benefit who is having this similar issue, I found there is an article in the SamyGo forum suggesting to change the WIFI region in the Samsung TV if there is connectivity problem.

I followed it and seems it is now stable with my newer TP-Link router.  I will monitor it for a few more days to make sure it is stable.

Cheers.

  @Loxley

Hi,

Please check if the issue happens on both 2.4G and 5G. Make sure it is within the AX55's WIFI range.

May I confirm the model number of your TV?

You can also check if there is any firmware update on the Samsung TV.

  @Sunshine

Hi, yes, the issue happens on both 2.4G and 5G.  The device is well within AX55's range.  The TV model is UA32K5500BJXZK and has the latest firmware.

Thanks for your reply, but the real issue is that my older router TP-Link C20i works flawlessly with all devices including this TV.  So it seems to me that it could be some non-configurable internal processing of the newer router which is different from the old one that caused the issue.

My case is very similar to this one -> https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/227100

that other routers are working fine with the same TV.
