Model: Archer AX55
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.7 Build 20220120 rel.74083(4555)

Bought Archer AX55 router a week ago and the connection keeps dropping at least several times per hour for 10-20 second periods.

PC is connected to router via cable. Router firmware shows as latest (1.0.7 Build 20220120 rel.74083(4555)).

I've checked the router system log and the same times I've lost connection it shows:

Led Controller INFO [1070] Start to run WAN0_ON

Led Controller INFO [1070] Start to run WAN0_OFF

This is repeated numerous times every day. I thought my ISP was at fault, but they've been observing pings/packets to my modem last few days and they confirmed no connection was lost to the modem, so it's definitely router issue.

I've checked this forum and there seems to be lots of people having exactly the same issue with different TP-Link routers and no resolution, such as there - https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/154267?page=4

If anyone has insight how to solve this, I would appreciate the help. Maybe there is some unofficial firmware that could help?

  @Kevin_Z

Hey,

1. Bypassing the router with direct connection from modem to PC internet is stable. I've been discussing this issue with my ISP and they've been pinging my router for 4 days and modem was off just single time middle of the night when I was not using it (while I'm losing connection several times an hour).

2. Ethernet cable works fine, no issues with the same setup on my previous TP-Link router (WR841N).

3. Firmware is updated to the last version.

4. Changed DNS settings for router as instructed (though I've already been using 1.1.1.1 set on Windows network settings). MTU size shows as 1500 on my router, should I change that to any other value?

5. MAC for router is cloned from my PC.

Connection issues persist. At the moment they are very irregular, but connection drops usually for 10-15 seconds, recovers automatically.

System logs is just this error on repeat:

Hello @GoSu, can I have the model of the modem provided by your ISP? Is it a cable modem or a DSL modem?

To assist and figure it out efficiently, I've forwarded your case to the TP-Link support engineers who will contact you with your registered email address later. Please pay attention to your email box for follow-up. Thank you.
