Hi

I have a rquirement to flood a storage yard area with WiFi

I am considering using multiple WA7510N with omni directional antennae

I understand that this model can be used solely as an AP and I can link the LAN to a localised switch.

I will been to use at least 3 to cover 'corners' as there are several buildings located within the yard to 'get around'

My questions are as follows.

1. By adding an external antennae, will this disable the inbuilt one.
2. Which 5GHz external omni antennae is recommended (1 meter tail so little loss)
3. Will these divices allow roaming
4. Can I configure 2 of them as a Bridge and AP. If so, will an external Antennae work sufficiently in this mode.

The bridge is to link 2 buildings which are around 30 meters apart point to point and I have good line of site, sadly there is a public street between them so they cannot be hard wired.

Each AP used can be hardwired to a localised switch linked to the main LAN

I have experience in using these as a PTP bridge and find them excellent hence why would like to try and use them in this scenraio

Hope this is enough information for someone with more experience of these devices to advise.

1. Go to webUI -> wireless -> Wireless Advanced -> Antenna Setting to choose "External Antenna", then the built-in one will become disabled. Only one antenna is working at the same time.
2. It depends on your requirement. It's hard to say which is the best. One example: TL-ANT2415D -> TL-ANT200PT -> TL-WA7510N
3. You have to set your clients(phones, laptops etc.) to automatically connect to the SSIDs. Then the client will do roaming by themselves.--Most TP-LINK(or other brand) products support this kind of Roaming.---But that's different from "seamless roaming"(802.11k 802.11r 802.11u 802.11f).
4. As for wireless bridge, I think using the built-in directional antenna will be much better than using external omni antenna. You should know that the built-in antenna of WA7510N is already 15dbi(without any external cable loss). In addition, as for WA7510N, AP+Client mode is even better than "bridge mode".

TL-ANT200PT is compliant with 2.4GHz & 5GHz.

You may also like to use TL-ANT24SP as Surge Protector. You can consult with the retailer for installation assistance.

ANT2415D is noted as 2.4Ghz not 5Ghz, are these also compatible?

A inadvertent msitake, sorry

As for 5Ghz, not found any omni-directional antenna in TP-LINK's page yet. Seacrh for other brands.

@Dany

"I have a rquirement to flood a storage yard area with WiFi...2. Which 5GHz external omni antennae is recommended"
--I said 'It depends on your requirement' because I dont know how large is selectgroup's yard.

"4. Can I configure 2 of them as a Bridge and AP....The bridge is to link 2 buildings which are around 30 meters apart"
--That's the 4th question. AND what I've suggested is to use the built-in one for this wireless bridge...

What he has said is "The bridge is to link 2 buildings which are around 30 meters apart", so I assume selectgroup is planing to use one 7510 with omni-antenna to cover his yard and the other two to establish the wireless bridge.

I have a rquirement to flood a storage yard area with WiFi...2. Which 5GHz

are you sure you want to use 5GHz by your statement this sounds indoors
"4. Can I configure 2 of them as a Bridge and AP....The bridge is to link 2 buildings

there is no Bridge and AP mode, is Bridge mode the 2 radios or AP-Client mode, only considetarion is on Bridge mode you will be using WEP security, is this what you really want to do, im asnwerig base on your post using bridge mode, if you are calling the PTP (point to point) Bridge call it PTP or Link, you can set WPA-PSK security using AP-Client read this post and pay special attention to post 9 from Tobacco here http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?73097-WPA-PSK-not-working.&region=china
What selectgroup has said is

read last post here 5Ghz its only to link, 2.4Ghz to spread wi-fi read here post 6 http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?74786-WA7510-questions&region=china
if i missed something please ask, there where to many Qs on last one i could have missed something
