Hardware Version : V1

Firmware Version : latest

ISP : PCCW (Netvigator)

Hi TP-LINK,

I would like to inquire the so-called standard 2.4GHz wifi connection speed of the TL-WDR4900
my boardband is 300Mbps (dedicated download and upload), below is the result from speedtest.net when I tested it on PC... and it is almost the same speed anytime of the day

and below is the result I got using my Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE, connecting to the same local server, placed at 50cm distance, with nothing in between the router and my phone(similar result from other wifi devices under same physical condition: laptop PC, Samsung GS2, Samsung Galaxy Tap, iphone, etc)
*please notice the entry 05:27 on 11JAN is from my 4G connection, not home wifi

all I can say is, it's very unstable and slow
the best result I got is about 25-ish Mbps download/upload

Do you consider this normal?

awaiting your reply

thank you very much.

EDIT: the router is on a channel which it is not occupied by any detectable wifi network, I have tried to use another one but result is the same.

it's terrible,do you have test on laptop? the speed on PC is good and on phone is bad,it's hard to say the problem is on router.

Hi

Just bought the Tp-link WDR4900 toady. I've got similar problems, 100/100 Mbit to my pc with wire. With my phone, a Nexus 4, i've got 10-20 down and around 20 up in speed.

Have you found any solutions yet?

Hi,

Take care the max speed of iPad and iPhone is 65Mbps.
iPad supports 2.4 and 5GHz, iPhone only 2.4GHz.

To test the real wifi throughput use : LAN Speed Test

Hi

I tested with Lan speed test. If i'm sending from wired computer to computer with wire, i've got about 90 up and 80 down. When i'm using only 802.11n wifi and sending from wireless computer to wired computer i've got about 30 up and 35 down, the wireless computer is in the same room as the router.
Still not sure why i'm getting so low speeds.

Yes, your wifi is too slow.

Did you set the Channel Width to 40MHz?

Did you enable WMM et Short GI?
