However this is not explained in the documentation, and it is only after wasting time on the matter that I now have come to understand that the address http://tplinkap.net is NOT an ordinary website address on the Internet.like http://tplinkap.com (or http://microsoft.com or http://google.com and so on).

The documentation should explain that this is a LOCAL address (provided by the Access Point device itself), and that it can only be accessed by plugging your computer's Ethernet LAN cab directly into the TP-LINK access point device.

This distinction is not obvious to someone using the device for the very first time.
