5 days ago I bought a router TL-WR841N - V9. I installed it, it works, but has a problem. Connects and disconnects at irregular intervals (5mins, 30mins, 4h, etc.). Connection is PPPoE. What can I do?
Thank you!

Same problem
2014-09-23 08:28:45
Hi. I'm having the same exact problem as 316Peti above. I've changed the setting Paco suggests and no difference. Every 10 minutes or so disconnect and reconnect, although sessions like VPN or SSH are simply killed (no reconnect), so it's very much a problem for my work.
I have also ruled out that it's not the ISP and I am using a static IP. I have upgraded the firmware, also with no difference. This issue does not occur when directly connected via LAN.
Any advice please??
Thanks.
-Anthony

Sorry I meant when using ethernet cable directly to the router. When I do that, I no connectivity issues. It's only when connecting via wi-fi only.

yes, all clients detect it when the wifi drops out. swapped out the router with an old linksys and works normally. I think we have verified that the problem is the router.

How many clients connect the router ?
Is the router all right when wifi drops out ? Whether the router will down or reboot ?
drops out only ?

Try changing the following in the Wireless Settings:
Channel Width: 20Mhz
Channel : 1 (or 6 or 11)
In the DHCP Setting, make sure the Address Lease Time is set to a maximum 2880
and see if you get any improvement

Thanks, but yes, already had those settings (and tried each channel to test -- all with same result).
And response to Miles, two devices, and yes, router seems fine and stays connected when wifi drops.
So far the only fix is to use a different router. :(

What devices connect to the router ?
What fireware version is the 841 router ?
Did you try another fireware ?
My 841 router do not have the problem you said ?
