I have gotten issues with compatibility between the router TL-MR3420 v1 and Modem TD-8616, both are from TP-Link.

Issue description is following: The router does not obtain any WAN ip adress from the modem.

TS done:

#1) Tried a netbook directly on the modem, get ip, and works perfect.
#2) Reset modem, did not help.
#3) Reset router, did not help.
#4) Updated router firmware today to latest on tp-link webpage, did not help.
#5) Tried other router on modem ( netgear ), works fine.

Notice: cabling are the same tested with both routers, so no fault there.

Is this a known issue, as i sometimes, very rarely accutally can get the tp-link router to work with the modem, issue was not ther from purchase date, but has come over some time ( 6 month ).

Before i go out and purchase a new router, is there anything else i can try ?
