DHCP Settings, Cannot set default gateway

From the web based administration system of the product, I set DCHP Server ON. Then I set Deafualt Gateway, to my gateway. I receive a message that I have to reboot the product in order for the settings to be applied. After I reboot the default gateway is set back to the product's IP address, and this is what DHCP clients receive. Of course this is not correct. There is no other DHCP server in my network
